JDM B18C-R??
I am looking For a JDM B18C-R motor and I found out that it comes in a 96-01 integra's. dose anyone know how exactly I would know if that is the engine in the car if I were to find the car at a junk yard????
.........in a junkyard?
have fun looking for a b18c-r in a junkyard, i doubt any dumba$$ would leave a c-r in a car in a junkyard after putting all that money in a motor thats that expensive
Your only other option is to go to a shop that imports the motors or someone that is selling one from their cars that they bought somewhere else
and all jdm engines just have a label of b18c, no 1 or 5 or anything else, gs-r and type r had just b18c, there are ways to tell if it is indead a type r motor

I highly doubt you'll be able to find a B18CR motor at a junkyard, not unless you're planning a trip to Japan soon. B18C5 then yes, just look on the block, by the tranny and it should say B18C5, or whatever engine code is on there. And to check for the year, look on the head right inbetween the headers, and valve cover, and it should say a year number on there, (i.e 96, 97) add one to that number and that will be the year of the car the motor came from.

A rarity amongst finding R engines in junkyards is because most of the time when people get into accidents, the engine is a part they salvage if its in running condition. You're not going to find one in a Junk yard ( Highly unlikely ). Go on Ebay or something. B18C-R engines are stamped as B18C which is also the same thing as the jap spec GSR engine. Look at the intake manifold. If the intake manifold is a dual stage intake manifold, its a B18C from the equivalent of a GSR, not a Integra R.
