One of my freinds is looking to buy a 94 civic dx coupe. Its priced at 1000 and thats about all we have to spend, (for now). The exterior is in pretty good shape, could use paint but thats the least of our worries. Interior is perfect. The problem lies in transmission from what i could tell by test driving it, Im no expert but the ride was good in terms of the smothness concerning the suspenstion, but it was buppy like the transmission was bad. The cluch was good and felt pretty much just like my civic, (95dx coupe) but it would slightyly grind into 5th (sychro??), neway the MAIN questoin is he needs this car to get him from A to B for about three weeks and then he will have the funds to throw another stock motor into it in a lot better shape, so what do you guys think for a grand a good deal? do u think a car w/ a shaky trans will run for a few weeks. Oh yea just to give you some insight to what the trans problem might be the Odometer and speedometer, will SOMETIMES work, so its definatly sounds like a trans problem, thrown bering is a term i see alot on there maybe that. Anyway he needs a car by monday so what do you guys think, advice insight opinons everything is welcome and we apreciate it.

Whats the mileage. If it's under 200k buy the car and rebuild the tranny or just buy one off a HT member.
