Default first time at the track

I am going to the track today to run the 1/4 mile. I have a 93 dx hatch with intake and exhaust, it is partially gutted. I am just wondering if you have some pointers for me!!! I know it is slow but I just wana see what I will run now before I get a motor swap.

it kinda depends on your setup. what motor, mods, suspension. if your going to bracket race, the key is consistency. do every thing the same, but since its your first time just get to know your car and the track. for me i have a list of stuff i have to do to prepare for a race. like taking the silencer out of the muffler, drop the tire pressures, take out the pass. seat and any loose items in the car. advance the timing a couple of degrees, take out the pass. headlight. just stuff like that.

i wouldnt drop the clutch. the important thing is to feather the clutch on the launch. try launching at around 4.5k rpm and feather the clutch. if you cant get any grip, than try launching lower than that. Just make sure that you dont sit there and spin your tires. Also lower the front tire pressure to around 22 psi
