This may be the wrong place to post if so im sorry. feel free to move it. but i was wondering witch motor(s) this valve cover fits? I know its for a 96-00 civic and its a 1.6L.

 

i know u can put it on a d16y8, and a d16z6 im pretty sure. what do u want to put it on?

almost positive that is from the z6...it should fit any d series. except the d17...

it wont fit pre-96 non vtec d-series heads. but any d-series after 95 itll fit

anf how can u tell its from a z6?

 

almost 100% sure it's from a y8. the z6 valve cover has VTEC instead of honda on it. i had this same valve cover on my y8 mini me.

 

its not from a Z6, its from a 96-00, the z6 either comes w/ a straight black valve cover w/ a honda symbol and sorta small honda made into it (92-93 z6 or VX engine) or a silver valve cover w/ honda and VTEC on it(94-95 z6, the vx had VTEC-E instead of VTEC), not the HONDA in big letters

nope, not always the case. 92-93 z6s did not have vtec on them. they had HONDA.

yup. Most of the previous ones for the Z6 had either Honda with VTEC or without, but, for the most part, they had the H logo, also.

 

except for this vlave cover. which i have never seen, but it looks as if it is a 1999-00 ex 4-door

Looks exactly like the valve cover on my friends D16Y7.

My '93 doesn't say HONDA on it, just the Honda 'H' symbol.

i think that someone made that valve cover.. never seen it before either and ive seen alot of motors before.. but i could always be wrong..

 

yo thats IDENTICAL to mine, exactly. 1996 Honda Civic Engine D16Y7, SOHC non VTEC. 106bhp, 103lb-ft torque.
I am 100% sure.

Thats the correct answer, the 92-93 Ex/Si D16z6 has the H symbol not HONDA, and NOT VTEC

 

any 1.6 setup sohc

 

Its a Y7 valve cover!

im pretty sure candadian ones (92-93) say vtec on them. mine does (93 si) and its from canada

 

I dont think its a d16 Z6 because that motor has Vtec and it says it on the valve cover

so im thinking its from a y8

wrong crx si had a d-series 1.6 sohc anf this valve cover will not fit.

D16Y7...that's what I used to have.

 

i have a 93 si and it has the honda symbol and right below it is says honda in small lettering

 

It is only 96-00. And its EIGHT A D16y7 or a D16Y8


either one, it fits both. the block itself is what has the solinoid. (spelling?) more than likely from a y8 though
