Default New 93 Civic sedan

Ok getting this car for $800 It's the ex model so d16z6, correct? Anyway paint is faded and peeling, needs back brakes, has no muffler, and it's about two inches to high for my taste. So here are my questions, is it safe to run the car without the muffler, getting new tags and insurence will eat up my next few months of extra cash, I want to get a dual tip type muffler the kind with the tips bent up, I have seen them on ebay for real cheap, has anyone ever used one of these cheapo fart cans off ebay, I relize a $15 muffler is gonna sound like a $15 muffler but whats an inexpensive muffler that would be worth it. I plan on sandin it down and painting it black so the quality of finish dosent matter, secondly can i lower the car the 2-2.5 inches i desire on stock struts with any prolonged success, will any other mods be necesary and again this is an $800 beater so I would again be goin with some ebay co. like dropzone for the springs.

You get what you pay for. Those eGay mufflers sound like ****. IMO, an ES Oval muffler will be a lot better. Looks stock and straight through design. $100 from kteller.com.

The DropZone springs are ****. If you are only into looks and not into handling and comfort, go ahead. Stock struts WILL blow sooner or later. Get some Eibach or H&R springs at least.

Again, you get what you pay for. Also, Search.
