i recently replaced my passenger axle with an axle from autozone. What i noticed about the axle from az and mine were that my axle was like a tiny bit longer on the inner joint. I didnt think much of it and i installed my axle. It fits fine and i put everything back together.
The car drives fine goin straight, but when i go into a turn, it will start making a vibration, kiinda like it is rubbing. But i checked it and there is nothing rubbing at all. Sometimes it wont vibrate, depending on how sharp im turning, and fast im going. At some times, it will vibrate when i hit a bump going straight.
I have no idea what is wrong with it. Is it because the axle i got isnt as long so maybe it didnt lock? There is no leak so i dont think that is the problem. This vibration isnt like a motor vibration... its like a a RUB. help ME PLEASE... TIA

check the simple stuff first, lugnuts completely tight
jsck up the front end and see if there is any play in the wheel
if it wobbles it could very well be a wheel bearing.

Sounds like if the inner joint was a bit longer than stock.... the knuckle could have been pulled out a bit. Sounds like something is going on on the inside of it. You might want to take it in to a mechanic and have him look at it. Otherwise you might have to take the axle back out and pull the boot off.

no, the inner joint was A bit shorter then stock. like prob 1-2 mm. it isnt a wheel bearing, because there is nothing else wrong, this only happens when i either go around a turn or hit a bump. Sometimes nothing even happens, and sometimes it'll vibrate real bad.
ALSO, I found out that if i take it out of gear, the vibration stops....

as this only happens when the suspension is being compressed, then I'd steer towards the inner CV joint. (A sliding Tripod Joint). Check that it is fully inserted into the gearbox, it could be almost half a centremeter out, which would still provide a good enough seal to stop fluid escaping the box but when the suspension is compressed and the spider with the 3x bearings slide deep in the cup, then the bearings may be just touching the rear of the cup causing the vibration sound like a dull vibrating tone/ sounding slightly 'muffled.
This is what happened on a friend of mines Prelude and when I checked underneath the driverside (RHD car) axle's inner CV had not been pushed in quite enough.
Im sure Ive heard of other people on the board using AZ axles without issues so Thats what I'm presuming is wrong.
