Car movies with great driving...
Let's make a list of ones to rent. Add your favorite movies with *good* driving scenes (and these do not include ones like "The Faster and the Furiouser...")
Bullitt
Two-lane Blacktop
The Racers
La Mans
THX-1138 (yeah, an odd/old sci-fi, but it has a really cool chase scene.)

Since everyone will say Ronin and Bullit:
To Live and Die in LA
No Mans Land
Mad Max (geez, you'd think a guy calling himself "the toecutter" would pick this one - sheeesh)
The Hidden

Heh! I thought only 450 people saw this movie and most were forced to cause they worked on the film
One of the best soundtracks for driving IMO (actually in my truck I believe).

. Even better

One of my favorites.
I like the chase scene in Bullit, but it does kind of annoy me because the soundtrack guy got a little carried away. Next time you see it start counting upshifts. That Mustang was awesome baby! It had something like an 11 speed tranny in it.
I'll also 2nd Grand Prix. It had some gushy, overacted, silly stuff in it, but some of the in-car is just incredible.
The sounds and scenes alone at the opening of the movie make it worth watching.

Well maybe as soon as gutterboy gets done installing those digital radio killers ....
I do think the Chrysler was an amazing car, there wasn't any actual great driving was there? Just in-car shifting and cuts to a stealth parked sideways and cuts back to some dude countersteering a car going straight
Cool car, just don't remember any actual driving scenes that didn't look like they were shot on a highway that wasn't closed off
Go rent No Mans Land if you want a Sheen flick with a fair amount of tail out jackassery (and the famously anonymous can opener scene).

I agree... unique camerawork.

Smokey and the Bandit is still the best IMO. Anything made in the last 10 years is likely to have all the good driving replaced with quick cuts and special effects.
The recent Starsky and Hutch comedy had some refreshingly "real" driving stunts though...

not a blockbuster movie, but the tone, music and the main character were very cool. he was all into his cars.
