Default for you guys with 92 accord 5 speed, what speed does it redline in 2nd?

Just wondering at what speed does your 92 accord 5 speed redline at in 2nd gear? this is the only way i can shift since my tach is messed up. thanks guys! Im so frustrated https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=971329

shift by sound yo!.....and of course red lining it w/o a tach is one of the dumbest things you can do

bounce it off the rev limiter a couple times and you'll know where it is.

go by sound....my friend has a new civic 5spd and doesnt even have a tachometer. He learned to drive stick by sound.......im still confused as to why honda didnt put a tachometer in his car......

shift @ 5500, best point, anypoint past that is a waste.

any point before 6300 puts you out of your powerband.
I've learned to shift a split second before the rev limter so the momentum of the engine actually brings it past it.

Actually I have read this somewhere as well. The f22's (a's that is) apparently don't make any extra power past 5500, so the rest of that is just wasting time

yup yuor right i heard the same thing i got a 91 accord f22a best shift is 5500 after that lost major h.p.

The question is if you shift at 5500 rpm what do the revs drop to and how much power is that RPM making as opposed to the upper part of the band. Say it drops to 3500 where you are making 98 whp but 6000 makes 104 whp. You would want to keep going even if 6000 makes 104 whp and 5500 makes 110. The power difference between 5500 and 6000 doesn't matter. The difference between 3500 and 6000 does.
