im in hick ville springfield missouri (moved here from vegas).. a guy down the street from me is selling a red eg. 92 cx.. with a jdm sohc vtec swap.. the body is solid.. only a dent or two in the back bumper.. what im afraid of is this guy said he did all the motor work with a friend.. when i started the car the idle was at 3000 rpm.. then gradually as the car warmed up went down to the normal. (below 1000).. he has a 5 ziggen exhaust system that seems to be dangling and makes a funny clunky sound as i drove it... i mashed it a few times and motor seemed pritty strong.. under the hood it seemed that a little oil leaked out from the head, but was no burnt oil on the headers.. on the interior he totally ricedboyed it out with nail polished vents and dash.. I would post pics but i dont know how.. if someone pmed or imed me i could upload them to you.. hes selling the eg for 2000 with a eclipse gsx turbo system (not installed) which supposedly fits right on.. please give me some advice on that to do..

 

i would buy it and it reving up that high is called a cold start throw that turbo on and start keeping up with the dohc's

 

2000 isnt bad at all, you could derice that interior with a bit of work and slap the turbo on and youve got a pretty fast hatch for 2k. imo

 

watch out for the JDM d15b, they are notorious for breaking, my friend got one from hmotors, and it didnt work, now it blows blue/white/black smoke and doesnt idle right, and it leaks oil and coolant, and he had a turbo too and the thing didnt ******* fit right, just giving you a warning from someone whos dealt with the jdm sohc vtec engine firsthand
