17s too big for EM1?
in the market for a new set of rims. and i was wondering if 17s are too big for my 00 coupe. not for looks wise. but for like driving reasons. either 16 or 17. yes 17s are gangster but i still dont wanna leave a gap so it wont rub. if not 17s then 16s with some thick tires. i need some suggestions. thanks
okay i have to say that yuo get 15's, the tire market is there while 16's have no tires available and 17's are too large you have to be careful to pull them off and for it to look good

I got a 2000 EM1 and yes I do think 17" is oversized for your car. Too much load on your engine & brakes anyway. I use Kosei K1 in 15x7 +45mm offset with 195/55R15 tires. Looks great. May consider some 205/50 next time though.
yeah i had the 15s with the 205/50s. rims looked alil too small. 16s are more to what im looking for. 17s are heavy, and yeah id prolly have to get some low profile tires, which isnt really my thing because of how u can really feel it in ur ride. im leanin towards 16s... thanks for the help. keep it coming.
205/50/15's are larger then 205/40R16s, Also 205/50R15 are larger then 205/35/R17s

i know someone with 19s on an EM1. 17s arent that bad. and NO 215/40's wont help you protect curbing. if you hit a curb, that tire is goin to move. regardless. if i were you ide go with some 16s. or just keep your stock wheels.
