realy, i was under the understanding that it could be done with any year you would just have to do a bit of grinding on the walls a lil. due to space issues. If im wrong please sommone let me know.

if i have some time sunday, i can check to see if this is 100% true. but i have to say i'll agree with him, but i'll have to see for my self
if you really want to swap hydro internals into a cable case, you could always get a ys1 case and switch your clutch disk to a 92-93 gsr disk and you'll be fine!

he is correct, you'll need a ys1 tranny case (out of any 92-93 manual tranny integra). The transmissions out of 90-91's (and any 89-91 jdm b series equipped vehicle) will not work. The cases are slightly different, but mainly the internals are drastically different. You won't be able to put a hydro gearset inside an 89-91 b series tranny case.
Well thanks, i didnt know. But from what i heard, you should be able to do a lil bit of grindin to make it work. Im not saying its gonna work, but thats what i heard. But if you are right, which im thinkin you are, then i guess im lookin for a 92-93 case. But just so i know can anyone explain whats the diff so i can tell my buddy. I am interested myself and want to know the diff.
TIA
Brian.

brian, i know for a fact that the y1/j1/s1 trannies are smaller internally than the ys1, or any other hydro tranny. i do have a y1 case at home that i can stick some hydro internals into, but if you happen to want a ys1 case i have a few available!
Well i do need one, I suppose the ys1 would be the best bet. How much are you guys looking to get for one of these and how much would it cost to ship it to detroit? or 48030.
Thanks for all the help.

not only are the shaft diameters different but the shift fork setup is different. Because of how the shift forks are different you would not be able to use 92+ shift forks in an 89-91 case, the forks just won't be able to be mounted properly and secured w/in the case.
The grinding you're talking about is a different thing all together. It has to do with putting an lsd into a ys1. For instance, putting an itr gearset with differential into a ys1. To do so you'd have to grind some of the case.

Well this will be goin into a 2nd gen crx, the tranny i have is a hydro gsr tranny. So would it work using the ys1 tranny and the stock crx shift forks?
no, you can't swap shift forks between generations of trannies. You want a ys1 case and the full hydro internals. None of the stock crx parts are gonna be used.
SOoo then the stock crx shift linkage and forks WILL work then right.
that is with the ys1 tranny. Not trying to keep goin on on the same subject i just want to make sure.

no, no, no. You will use NONE of the stock crx parts....
You will use:
1 Bare ys1 case
1 COMPLETE set of hydro tranny internals (everything inside of the tranny case)
All you do is swap from one case into the other. you will NOT use any of the crx parts.

no, you'll need a modified/aftermarket b series shift linkage..... Have you researched what is needed when doing b series swaps into civic/crx's? If so, you must have missed that part. If not.... you should go research that stuff.
