Fluidine instalation gone bad
I bought a fluidine off of Option imports for by 98 BB6. Put it in last weekend at friend's house. We pulled out my old one, attached one old fan to the fluidine ( Fluidine comes with only one fan) and put it in. When we were going to connect the clips for the fan wires, we noticed that the car's clip and the Fluidine's clip was not even close in shape and compatability to each other.
My friend (car audio guy- Soy Sauce CB7) 1. cut a piece of wire + old clip from stock radiator 2. cut off the Fluidine's adaptor 3. connected the old clip to the fluidine wire and VOILLA - everything works.
So before buying a Fluidine, acknowledge that you will have to do a bit of electrical work. After pushing the car at night to see if could get it hot enough to make the cooloing fans turn on, everything worked. The radiator is so kick-a** that after parking it and running the engine for five minutes the fans turned on and worked for 3 seconds, and then stopped because the car was cooling so well.
Will try to post up a picture of the wirring job .
