I have a 92 4 door civic lx.

I cannot lock the passenger door at all.. the lever goes down almost all the way to lock but it pops right back up if i pull the inside or outside handles.. also the key has no resistance to turning .. it just goes wherever.

I have taken the door panel off and looked at all the linkages and they look to be intact and not bent. and are all hooked up in the correct places.

My power door locks aren't hooked up currently but they will work tomorrow hopefully.. any common problems like this?

 

hmm.. ive got a 92 civic hatch, and my driver door sounds like it has the same problem, but I notice when I lift up the door latch, and then try to lock it at the same time it works fine.. i dont see it as much of a problem, so I just dont care about it, but try that.. for some reason my alarm with keyless entry works fine, so I hardly ever lock the doors manually, but oh well.

 

every honda does what you described.. well most..

this is the passenger door.. a whole different story

 

mine has a problem that might be associated but i dunno. my doors just randomly unlock which sucks. but yeah have you tried just locking the door from outside with your key? or does that not work either? just wondering
