Default What size slicks to use on stock ITR?

What size slick tyre should I use on a stock ITR for optimum handling on a dry track? Standard tyre size is obviously 195/55-15.

Ideas?

Cheers!

I think the cheapest (and the only dimension available here in Europe) is a 205/50/15.

22.0x8.0x15 Should work pretty good. I might try that size.

I know he said "slick" but he did say for "handling" so the Drag slicks are out of the question.

205/50/15 is size to go with, use a Hoosier if you want a little more contact patch, they run a larger than most tires marked the same.

If "slicks" means roadracing tires, I fit a 225/205/50/15 F/R combo on my stock R with 5mm spacers. If you're running stock suspension, the added contact patch up front will help the car rotate.

Seems like they wouldn't wear evenly on the track, and you'd end up with spent 225's and half tread 205's, unable to rotate them and maintain the handling characteristics you want....

There's no question that the rears last forever. However, I have a total of 12 race tires, 4 street tires, and 12 wheels. Considering that you can also flip the Kumhos over on the rim, that's a lot of rotating available to me.

Maybe I could rotate the 225s in the rear and go for the hotrod look, ***-end-up!

Any 205/50 R compound tire

Try Yokohama A032R, A048; Toyo Proxes RA-1; Kumho or Hoosier

Since you're in Europe you might check out Dunlop and Michelin too.
