Default Do 6th gens AV6's generally have weak downshifts?

Whenever I feel like downshifting my auto AV6 it seems to take longer than usual. I would say about a 3.5 second interval before the lower gear kicks in. Is this normal? I don't feel the downshift as much compared to other automatic trannies.

the 6th gen v6 auto tranny seems to be one of honda's more finicky trannies. it shouldn't take 3-4seconds to kick in to a lower gear, but i have noticed that my friend's car is a little sluggish on the downshits.

Keep on shifting it like that and soon you'll be wishing it even shifts at all.

hahahaha i havve a av6 and from av6 tranny history i wouldnt suggest downshifting at all cause sooner or later your car will never shift at all.... any auto tranny i wouldnt do it at all and if ur car is taking that long too down shift your rpm's are too high buddy. let it drop down a little before doing it

I think you're referring to putting it down to D3 or D2 which is definitely stupid. Am I right, n00b.

well if hes saying it takes 3.5 seconds for him to downshift that means he might be doing it manually (d3 to 2) because if he just womped on the gas it should downshift quickly or it wont at all pending on the speed hes going. thats kinda the same way doing it manually in a auto tranny, if ur going to fast it wont let u downshift unless u let off the throttle until it reaches a speed for it to downshift and that may take 2 to 3 seconds... but again there cud be something wrong with the tranny if hes talking about ur fact on downshifting

You better be knockin on some wood. You must also have either a 98 or 99 huh? They are known to have the better trannies.
