Default Can anyone recommend a good builder for machining an IT motor in NNJ?

Prepping a car for improved touring and got a good deal on an engine and need a good machinist that either knows the IT rules or can follow specific instructions in the northern NJ area. I have a GCR.

What's going on Ed? What is your new project? So I guess you're not working on the 240 anymore?

I'm just shocked to see a Subie guy on the Honda board

luder Shhhh. I am trying to get help finding a good shop here don't give me away . I can't get any important questions answered on the nissan boards unless I am asking about which wheel/tire/spacer widths will make my tires flush with the fenders. If I mentioned rebuilding a ka24e there they would say "just do an sr swap man". I figure based on the honda guys I know from the track that honda peeps with competition interests are more likely to know a good machinist in this area than anyone else.

trigun thanx but I am looking for someone local that I can work with in North NJ.

There's a machine shop called "fisher" in the new brunswick area that does good work from what I hear. Don't know if that is too far south for you. . .

If it is a Honda or Acura motor you want to build, Mechanic Shop North in North Salem, NY might have what you are looking for. Anthony builds the best IT Acura engines in the Northeast, I think he does other Honda motors too, he has swept ITA this year in his Integra and was 2nd at the ARRC last year. Might be a good place to start if you want to build a Honda motor...

Thanks to all the responses. I will check out the two mentioned and see if they will fit in.

Phat-S - everyone keeps sending me someplace else... But actually got more responses with names here than elsewhere so far.

Would you be willing to build a fast and legal KA24E (Nissan 2.4L SOHC) long block?
