Default What happens if you forgot O-ring on the center cam rail? What is the purpose? zero oil pressure...

Semi-built motor... b18c1 block, head, skunk 2 intake manifold, crower cams, unknown pistons, unknown valvetrains... i only got to drive it 700 miles after it was built.

My car is reading zero oil pressure after 700 miles of driving. So if i forgot the o-ring inbetween the center cam rail and head would it cause the oil light to go off? Someone has mentioned the o ring, but i don't clearly understand how it would make the oil light go off after so many miles of driving.

Could someone explain the purpose of the o-ring?

Vtec will not work without that o-ring and the dowel pin in there. It will not, however, cause your motor not to produce oil pressure.
