My Car Hates Me. Idle Still Bounces, Brand new TPS
I just spent 60 bucks on a brand new tps, took me this first part of the morning to remove the old t/b, tps and get the other tps on there perfect and get the readings absolutely perfect.
Before they were .67 Idle and 4.97 WOT
But i got them perfect at .46 Idle and 4.61 WOT
So I put it all back together, pull the hazard fuse for a few minutes, put it back in, take another readout of the tps, PERFECT.
Start the car, ****! Jumps to 2100 rpm and just sounds loud. Warms up and goes to 1100, stays there for a sec, and then slowly bounces from 750-1200rpm, Like the bounce was a lot slower then before.
Im going to go try and to 88_crx_si's idle adjustment **** with the iacv but I doubt that will help.
What can I do guys, I cant figure it out and I dont want to spray again until I figure it out.
I am also getting no cel's after idle or getting on it.
Thanks

Have you tried cleaning out the little screen in the IACV? I had a similar situation with my b16a and after cleaning the IACV it corrected the problem. Just a thought.
Check your TB gasket as well as IM gaskets. They can get oil-soaked and leak...Also make sure the throttle cable has enough slack to let the plate close all the way.
Intake mani gasket is less than 800 miles old, when I had the t/b off today I dont even remember if I saw a gasket.
Also, what do you mean on cleaning the IACV? How is it done?

Unbolt the IACV from the intake manifold and there should be a little screen like filter inside. Make sure it is not gummed up with dirt.

really! lol.. maybe you should get a new one man! sounds like a small vac leak.. possibly between the tb and IM.
spray things w/ starter fluid (just a little) and it'll suck it in where the leak is.
edit: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=967710 might be the FITV as stated in here, check it out.

i had/have the same problem as well. my idle is still high when i first start my car but it goes down to normal. BUT before i cleaned my EACV my idle was hunting just like yours. i cleaned the screen and got at least the hunting to stop. use carb cleaner.

I guess the IACV is on the block tomorrow
Gonna read more on the fitv
To many dam ******* sensors.
And Im seriously doubting that I have a throttle body gasket now for some reason, just dont recall seing anything other than black, so Ill grab some started fluid tomorrow, see if it helps, if it does, Ill rip the ****** off again

i dont want to give bad advice, seeing as i read somwhere on h-t that you arent supposed to screw with the little white cap inside of the fast idle valve.
i have been having a high idle for about 2 wks. i took off my eacv, cleaned it, put it back on. still had a high bouncing idle. i also unplugged the eacv and my idle only dropped down to about 1300 rpms. so i knew i had a vaccum leak.
so i took the throttle body off, and cleaned it out real well. while i had it off, i decided to see if the fitv was in good working order. i used to have a g2 teg, and one of the teg tips on g2ic was to screw in that white thing inside of the fitv. well, i did it and sure enough my idle went back to normal. even my cold temp idle is about 1300-1500 rpms.
just wanted to share my experiance, and give you some ideas. goodluck.

Good thing you dont have OBD2B
Good thing you dont have OBD2B
Just pisses me off thats all that you cant pinpoint the problem most of the time right away and you just have to buy **** and fix **** that is fine until you get the right one
Can you guys see you gasket between the intake and t/b, all I see is metal
Its pissing rain here though so I cant check today and Im off for work in 30 min

Yes, u can usually see the TB gasket when its all assembled. I remember when my FITV was messing up. My cold idle was WAY up there at like 2700rpm. Screwing the TB idle screw inward may help, as i just did that for a friend today.

oka here is a new question abt my car ... everytime i let my car warm up it stays abt 1,900 then it would go down a bit. when i press the gas and left off why does the car feels like it gonna die and the tach reads below 500rpm ? it would go up a bit and down alot and i try ti give it a gas a bit then left off agian it will almost shut off and die. i dont know if it the fitv is tight or not

No IAC code would be different. Checking/fixing the FITV valve is easy. Do a search on it and there is a step by step procedure with pics.
