My rev meter is on 1000 rpm when car is at standstill? (94 honda prelude 2.2 vtec)
hi there,
When my car engine is on the rev meter rises on 1000rpm and does not stay at 0?
I have checked the hoses and changed the fuel filter.. what else could be causing this? I am not very good with the technical words so please be as detailed as possible..
thanks in advance..
ps. my car is a 1994 2.2 vtec prelude

What do you want it to do? It's not an electric motor, you know...

Your car should sit at around 1000 - 1500 rpm. When the car is on the engine is running and therefore it will have so many rpms. It is supposed to do that and not sit at 0. That would mean your engine isn't running and that would be very bad.
