Yes. Small end of the rods need to be machined to fit into the pistons.

Yes , but the B16 or even better JDM B16 P30's work better and NO milling of rods and higher Compression ratio.

they fit in there! with no mods what rods to use?

Just use your stock Ls rods if you are on a budget. Even w/ a budget build I would suggest shot peening them and installing arp rod bolts
