Default Customization Ideas... need input.

Hi people, I have two customization ideas and I need some input on them from people who may know something I don't.

Custom Gauge Faces - I was thinking I wanted white gauge faces for my Gauge cluster, but they cost like $60 from the CarDomain store. So why not take out my OEM ones, scan them, edit them accordingly in photoimpact and then print out and cut some new gauge faces onto some heavy paper?

Custom Decal - My base model Civic doesn't have a Civic logo/decal on the back of the trunk, just the honda logo ornament. Whats the easiest way to make a seemless custom decal in black to put on my car? I want it to look as if it were painted on back the assembly plant.. I googled "custom decals" and got a trunk-load of results. What choices do I have to do this?

You can get white gauge faces off ebay for less than 30 bucks.

I wish I had of known that earlier but there are none currently on ebay atm...

So how difficult is it to remove the stock ones from the gauges in order for me to just scan them?

Removing them is easy enough once you remove the needles and screw em up so, Dont do it, I have some gauges out of a del sol i could scan for you but i dont know if they would work. I have the speedo and Tach done already. Id say buy some off of ebay There not worth it tho imo i had the white face plate guages that lit up at night had em on for a few months and took them off, Thought they were too ricey imo im trying to get my car back to a stock looking sleaper

Once I remove the needles and screw them up? What do you mean by that?
Wouldn't I have to remove the needles to replace the faces with white ones from ebay?

And as I said earlier there are none of ebay, right now atleast

Because the stock cluster is gay with those ugly *** blue lines. Who cares if it is ricey. I think it looks better than it did and thats what matters not what anyone else thinks

Theres a spring in the needles that keep an exact amount of tension on the needle which is what allows it to return to 0rpm/mph, also it has a specific amount of resistance to it as well if you put the needle back on in the wrong position your needles will be WAYYYYYY off, i did that once and my speedo was off my 15mph. Was cool at first allways made me feel like i was going pretty fast. But the only way i found to fix it was to reset the needles which was a pain in the a$$ and required expensive equipment to do so. Luckily i had it all on hand but still.

Anyhow for your other question You DO NOT take the needles off you actually bend the face plate a bit, there thin and flexable just for this reason and try your best not to move any of the needles especially the fuel/temp guages there not to kind to reading how they ussed to. Wont damage them but it might read a tiny bit off in the future. I did write ups on how to install them and reset the speedo/tach needles.

Dont know what you mean about blue lines tho? Can you send me a pic so i can see what you mean.

Well one thing I realised while I was out this evening is that my needles are white, and if I go with white gauge faces too then I sense a conflict arising.. But it sounds like hell for me personally if I attempt to change to black needles too.. maybe I should just leave the damned things alone.. do JDM Clusters have white gauge faces?

Anyway, how about my custom decal ideal? I wanted to design my decal(s) using photoshop/photoimpact and be able to go from there... can I do that? Any services, or kits/products you guys know of?
