It looks as if I'm about to be picking up a '95 Si HB w/ a sir I motor in it, run by a sir II ecu. I really wish I had a GSR powered hatch, but since it doesnt look like I'm going to get one for a deal like I'm getting on this car I'll have anywhere from $0-1500 to spend on mods to this car. ....really no more than that, and to scratch up the entire $1500 will be tough. So best mods for $0-1000 would be more realistic. ...I'm not mechanical savvy enough to be able to pull the engine myself or do serious engine work.

The car already has I/H/E + ground control coilovers and gsr rims. Someone suggested to me to get some tokicos for the car. I thought about sway bars.

 

Cheap mods that will help you in day to day driving? Track mods?

 

If you have <FONT SIZE="4">$00.00</FONT> to spend on mods, I suggest nothing.

 

get some cams + cam gears and upgrade your valvetrain to make a bit more power. or you can get a b18 block and get urself some torque

Better handling???
More HP???
Better exterior???
Better interior???

Then YOU....can narrow it down even further.

 

get some koni yellows, itr rear sway bar

 

get the srr rear sway bar.
ex front sway
replace the bushings with poly ones. and your good to go. did it on mines when i did the swap the car handles like a dream firm no more crappy ride. very solid

 

If i got a b18 block, that would be quite expensive. A GSR swap would probably end up costing me 4k+ after labor.

Or were you just suggesting using a b18 block and the b16 vtec head?

 

Never going to take the car to the track, in the near future. Maybe if I got the money to turbo it.


Mods for my personal enjoyment. I like to be able to go fast anywhere, but suspension upgrades like I mentioned like struts or sway bars would be nice to make the car handly smoothly in the twisties. I want it to be a nice, 'quick', fun daily driver\


Also, the car has yokos on the front tires and just cheap honda tires on the back, should i get another two yokos for a better ride or does it not really make a difference because they're just the trailing wheels on FWD

power mirrors
sunroof.

So basically I think cosmetic mods wont really be in the future, considering I'm going to get the car already like this. If I do do cosmetic mods, my uncle can help me out because he has a car audio shop and customizing shop like that so that stuff isnt a big deal. Just looking for performance mods.

p.s. I'm getting that car for $3700 + my beat to **** del sol that I got offered $800 for.

i would get me a set of koni adjustable shocks if possible.
srr rear bar like i said before and front sway bar off an ex. thats all you need in the handling department for now i had these mods done and it made the car handles great.
my set up on my eg was h&r cup kit srr rear bar. and ex front sway bar.
poly bushings in the front. so far the car is rock solid. dont even feel like a civic any more.
i would derice that **** that would be my first mods take them head lights off that mid wing gotta go.

That **** is gone. I liked the angel eyes...but they're gone. The carbon fiber mirrors are gone too.


Everyone comments about the wing...it doesnt really bother me and normally I hate rice. I think its a tasteful car. I like subtle cars.

A nice carbon fiber hood with some silver hood pins, lowered 1-2in more and some gun metal rotas and that would be how i would want it to look exactly. That **** would be far too much money though just for cosmetic


You think the stock sway bar is decent? So i should keep that, get a rear sway bar, possibly some tokicos....everyone is saying used koni reds or yellows but i dont know if i trust myself to buy used so maybe just get the new tokicos...and it should handle a hell of a lot better, right? What the other guy said about it not even handleing like a civic anymore is how I want to be able to think of my car. I want it to handle like something completely above and beyond a civic.

As for the used greddy turbo kit...as far as engine mods the only one I was really considering was just that. A cheap turbo kit boosting 8-12psi daily.


As for the other guy saying about new people and the search feature. STFU. I asked this question over on hondaswap and didnt get spammed by some jerk off about whatever. I was trying to collect a wide array of opinions. So what if the topic has been posted before, maybe theres something new to add to it...you can count on damn near everything being a repost after the boards have been opened for so long. and slap on the srr sway bar and your good to go

Look, you have to look at this from my perspective. I see this kinda stuff every single day, there are a million of these. And you know what? If they weren't locked, they could go on forever. Its a damn EG civic, do you know how many different things there are you can do to it? I'm sure there are people out there who have modified their civics to go underwater. It is just too broad of a question, and there are an infinite amount of answers, which is why i'm going to lock it.
