Default Get dougnut gasket flange thing for JDM header, or 2.5 Highflow cat?

I was looking for some advice. I'm planning on doing a jdm header and a 2.5 exhaust. I was trying to decide wether to get the 2.5 gasket/flange and use my stock cat, or get a 2.5 high flow cat instead. Any help or input on this would be appreciated.

Also, when searching some people said they got a gasket from an S2k for their Headers. Is this all I need to make it fit my stock cat, or will I need anything else?

I will be doing the same set-up in about two weeks. The shop that is doing the install said that they will cut the stock cat and weld a 2.5in collector to it for the header and the T1R 2.5in exhaust will bolt up to the stock cat. If there is a way to not have to cut and weld my cat for the header I would love to know. They also mention that I will be absolutely fine during an emissions test.

I was going to get an aftermarket 2.5in cat(Carsound, etc.) but I've heard and was warned that they crap out quickly. Also, having them say that a stock cat will work fine with this set-up and have no problem passing AirCare(emissions test in Canada) made me think that this route is better for me.

Definitely SMSP.

Running a modified stock cat would be very restrictive.

well, i believe the high flow cats have a bigger overall diameter inside the cat.
Dave @ SMS should be able to clear up your problem. I've ran a hollowed out Stock Cat before..( Peeeyooooo it stunk! black bumpers on PY cars suck )
