Why would it be illegal to gut your interior?

It isn't against the law to have no carpet or no back seats...

if you take out the backseats, is the carpeting large enough to cover the hole your seats leave?
There is no carpeting in the rear under the seats.

since it spends 80% of its time on the track go ahead and strip it.......and its only going to be illegal if you have people sitting on the floor but who would want to do that

I had my back seats/carpet out once. 3 people in the car including me. One had to sit what we called "helicopter" because the gutted back looks and sounds like a helicopter, no seatbelt either he would just squat down and hang onto the 2 back seatbelts. WAS funny to gun it and watch him tumble around back there hehe.

CS: 50 lbs? 100lbs including spare/jack/rear wiper/etc.. not much I'd venture to guess.. My interior surely didn't feel very heavy when I removed it.

sackdz: go document the 400 postings pls
