replaced dist. cap and rotor...now car wont start, HELP!
...posted in here and in integra b/c i see a lot more knowledge thrown around in here than i do in there...
Ok, I hit 60k recently, so i went up to acura today, picked up a new distributor cap and rotor and got home tonight and went to work, disconnected the plug wires, unscrewed the three bolts from the cap, unscrewed the screw holding the rotor onto the shaft and took the rotor off, i replaced that inside cap and put the new rotor on and screwed the screw back in and tightened it...put the new dist. cap on and put the plug wires on so they look like this:
(3)(4)
(1)(2)
(1) being at the one at the bottom near the firewall...this is the correct firing order, i know that.....
so, i put all that on, went to start the car.....it just cranks, wont start...any ideas on what to do guys? my old rotor is already destroyed from prying it off....i tried the old dist. cap and that wont work either......

blow your coil fuse? or your coil could have went out, my friends had the exact same problem after he changed his cap and rotor. Check for spark, take a plug out of the cylinder and plug it into the plug wire, ground the plug to the engine have someone crank the engine , see if you get spark.
Check to see if your getting a spark, if not check the Distributor Plug if you disconnected them check if any of the pins got bent and are maybe not connected properly. Obviosly sounds like something was done when you changed out the parts. Firing order is correct.
im going to see if im getting spark...i'm thinking it might be the coil...how expensive is the part for that? and how difficult is it to replace?
