Default S2000 lifters solid or hydraulic?

Are the S2000 lifters solid or hydraulic. If they are solid, are they buckets?? Lastly, if they are buckets - what is the diameter. I am looking for a use in another application. Thank you.

The S2000 doesn't have lifters. Those are for push rod cars. The cam followers are solid though.

Thanks for the reply, man. Are you sure though? Because I have been building engines in Japanese and German cars for about 15 years and I know that the valve actuation in my Porsche is a hydraulic lifter - and it isn't a push-rod engine
A lifter is a general term for the device that throws the valve off of the head - doesn't really matter what direction the actuation is.

Uh-oh, first impressions of the tech. knowledge here is not so good, guys. My 944 turbo has hydraulic lifters, 911's do have rockers. All modern Porsches have hydraulic bucket lifters.

Could anyone who has seen an Open Honda, please address my question? Thanks, guys.

Your screen name says it all to me....

I've not seen a bare F20c or F22C head, but I have seen other bare honda heads. The only one that has something that sticks out in my mind is the B18C5...I'm not sure how comparible they are to lifters...but they have what are called "lost motion assemblies". I never read much up them....

Oh, and P.S....a Porsche 944 and 911 are NOT Honda's. Don't forget that.

S2000's have rocker arms that are directly actuated by the cam. Valve clearance is adjusted with adjusting bolts on the tip of each rocker arm. There are no lifters, the only Honda I know that uses lifters are some of the V6 engines found in the Legend and RL which are hydraulic and require no adjustments.

"lost motion assemblies". QUOTE]

They absorb impact from the Rocker arms when they get pushed down.

Spankee - thanks, that is what I was looking for.
A guy who was interested in custom fabbing some shim-style buckets for me told me that he has a lot of experience changing Honda buckets to shim style. Now I believe he has more experience changing horse manure into bullshit.

Horse Manure is bullshit only refined and sold as Premium therefore it brings a higher pirce as "pushrods". Allowing it to be used in many variable applications including "pushrods" in v-tec motors.
