Default lowering a accord 2001

i've dropped my accord. This is my first time i do this and i'm afraid it is going mess up my shocks or something else. How do i know when my shocks are being damaged due to the lowering? Is there any thing i need to look for so it won't mess up? Thanx

I lowered my 96 accord with adjustable coilovers and my shocks didnt last. My shocks lasted maybe a month and a half. In new york coilovers dont last for shyt. Streets here suck. I learned that the hardway. I switched over eibach lowering spring with new factory or monroe shocks and car rides sweet. You will hear a constant knocking noise when you hitt bump if your shocks are dead. Just watch out for potholes and you will be ok. When reinstalling the shock and spring just make sure you put all the parts back in the right spot. Other then that you should be fine.

usually, the struts won't last very long, but it depends on the springs too. what kind of springs did you use? how much of a drop?
