Default 98 Prelude Amplifier Remote Wire

I just installed a 350 watt kenwood amplifier pushing a single 10" JL W0. At times the amplifier works fine with no problems but sometimes after i turn the car off and try and turn the car back on the next day the amp wont turn on. Does anyone have any idea what maybe the problem. I was thinking it was the Remote Wire as i have it connected with a fuse in the fuse box? Anyone have a better idea of where to connect the remote wire as I do not have an after market headunit and i do not have a power antenna. Thanks

Default Re: 98 Prelude Amplifier Remote Wire (macaronak)

In my car, I put a mini switch in the dash (below the moonroof/dimmer/cruise switch) and ran that back to the amp. I have a computer instead of a regular head unit so I wanted to have more control over when the amps turn on. If you think the problem is with the amp control wire, turn the car on and test with a multimeter. I fear I may be getting too basic, but the amp needs +12v on the signal wire (usually a blue wire) to turn on.
