What R should I get? Need advice! Please....
I have a choice of getting a 1997 R or a 2000 R,
the 97
55k, ac, lowered, camber stereo, ok condition.
the 00
33k, ac,bone stock.
Both seem to be well taken care of but the 00 seems to be better taken care of, engine wise.
Asking price for 97=17k
asking price for 00=20k
Need advice, PLEASE.
also, does the 97 make more horsepower than the 00?
Just wondering.

Personally, id get the 97. depending on how beat up it really is. But really, you need to decide for yourself, do you really want a Yellow car(if thats what color the 00 is)? White is far less conspicous (sp?), just a thought.
Actually the R is a yellow color, and I do understand that the 97 is a bit older, and do understand that is less cospicuous (is that how you spell it?) but that is why I needed advice, the 97 is a second owner and the 00 is the first, so that on itself says a lot. Quality wise I believe I will go with the 00, but looks wise the 97 color is very cool. Thanks for some clarification guys....and I will keep you posted on my future investment.

I wouldn't base your decision on color.
Base your decision on condition for the $$ asked. I would gladly take the '97 if it were in good condition. I would *expect* a '00 to be in a little better condition personally, but it all depends on the previous owners.
Remember...the '97 is a rare breed. My guess is that more than half were stolen or wrecked.
Also, what purpose are you buying your ITR for? Daily driving? Race? Show [/sarcasm] Just curious.

Everyone will know a CW if they see it anyway....Tegs, ITRs in particular, arent safe anywhere unless theyre black and sleeper'd...so don't even bother. Some people just have this silly fascination with CW because it was the first color.
even though i've never done this before, i'd suggest taking it in to mechanic who knows what he/she is doing. if the '97 is what you want...
otherwise yeah, get the newer one. it's 3 years younger and is a first owner. even 1st owner cars are iffy...unless they have all the service records and stuff.
get the '00 model. better piece-of-mind...

Yellow Dragon: I probably will use it as daily driver and a road worrior for weekends, a bit of carbon fiber wont hurt either (hehe).
I had a G2 but an old man rammed into it from behind and it was claimed salvaged. Then I got a 96hatch but I really dont have time to do an engine swap right now...so basically I chose a typeR for the rarity compared to a GSR. It will cost a bit more, but i believe that it will pay off in the end.
I am probably going to stick with the newer one since it seems to be teh better bet.
thanks guys for the advice.
