hehehe get a different car

For bottom end power, you could try a SC But there is not much other then the standard mods that would help.

Compression
SMSP header at long length
Advance intake cam and/or JUN II Intake Cam advanced 5 degrees
Slightly longer cold air intake

Give it a try. SMSP header with cat/2.5 inch exhaust made my R feel like a V6

"aint no replacement for displacement"

You are not going to get a lot of grunt out of a 1.8L like the B18C5 - it makes it's power through revs.

Even with bigger cams, better FD - torque is not going to change much.

Define "low" and "mid range".
... that's why it revs to 8.5K +

Other than an SC, a Drag III type kit mightbe what your looking for.
