Default fuel filter

Does any one know an easy way to take the fuel filter off? I tried changing it today and there is like barely any room to loosen the bottom bolt.

There really is no room to take off the bottom bolt for the filter when I tried to do it myself, so I had my friend do it since he had a lift I'm sure you will be able to take it off eventually...

Sorry I'm not much help

Is the fuel filter setup on the 5th gen different then the 4th gen?

I have changed mine several times in the driveway with no problem, 5 min job.

Just curious

edit: N/M i went and looked for myself. Damn that sucks, here is the 4th gens set up lines 3 and 12

5th gens ( for the archive)

I don't exactly know if the location is different for the SH than the base model, but mine is on the left side, inbetween the IM and the shock tower, right in the middle of a whole bunch of **** that is in the way. I am sure it is possible to take out w/o a lift, but I work at a place that has lifts so I did it that way. Nonetheless, it was a lot easier w/ a lift.

No major clearance issues on the 4th gen.. but the fuel line bolts were as tight as a young virgin

I needed a insanely long breaker bar to loosen them

They come right off with a LINE wrench, an open end box ended wrench, that has two extra sides to it. Basically a 5 sided box end wrench. Somewhat of a specialty tool, but most any auto parts store should have one.

I wouldent be supprized if it was even harder to get to on an SH. Luckly i havent had to go after that thing yet. Hey Behan, check out where the oil filter is on an SH, lol. There is no room for anything, the atts and lines are all over the freakin place.
