Spiffy Camera Mount from SVTek
Offered by fellow SCCA racer Vesa Silegren.

Made from billet aluminum. This thing is simple, very light (much more so than an I/O Port mount) and based on what I've seen from Vesa's in car tapes it works extremely well. Its also a bit cheaper than an I/O Port.
I ordered mine today.
Just thought I'd share.
Looks like the mount Rivergate has been selling for a couple of years now.

Seems like it would work well as long as your diagonal is in the right spot.

Would work on a horizontal or vertical bar too.
One nice thing about this mount is that the arm is very short.
The longer the arm, the more vibrations are amplified and will show up in your video.
I have a mount that uses the same Bogen 3D head as the Ioport, and while the "3D" adjustability of it sounds really useful, ultimately you wont use it, and all it does is add a lot of bulk and extends the mounting arm.

Just got the mount today. I'm quite impressed.
Its very well made but also very simple. Simple is good.
I've found 3 different ways to effectively mount it to the roll cage so far. Its not as flexible as the I/O Port type, but as mentioned that is flexibility you're likely to not use. It also doesn't have all the arms and pivots of the I/O Port, which is likely why Vesa's in-car tapes are always so clear with very little vibration.
And... Its cheaper.

Well... Duh.
Hell, I'd like it to be free and come with an expensive call girl.
The I/O port (and its copies) are typically what... About $90 to $100???
So Vesa priced his at $69. His new model for multiple tubing diameters is $89. Still cheaper than the others.
Seems perfectly reasonable and intelligent to me.
Scott, who knows that it costs Gatorade about 14 cents to get a 32oz bottle on the shelves and they price it at about $1.25 because they *can*.

Its an OK price but its not a good price. I been looking at ebay for some mounts but they run about $50 to $70 dollers. I'm going to take some time and make one I will keep you guys updated on the out come.

Didn't someone post the Manufacturer of the I/O Port one and you can buy it directly from them for like $30-40???
Jamie who did you say that was again???

You can buy the camera mount, it is the Bogen 3025 3D Camera mount, ~$40 shipped from bhphotovideo.com IIRC, but the hardware that mounts it to the rollbar is made by ioport. I made something up myself using U-bolts and steel plate.

That's it. Thanks man, that's what I was looking for. Having a mount fabbed up for it will be no problem.

Precisely my plan sir.
As to why I was only looking for the mount.
