Default WHO HAS SUCCESSFULLY USED OMNI'S METHOD... H22 LMAs IN A B-SERIES ENGINE?

I know this has been covered before, but I'm curious how many have actually done this on their own since Omniman and Rocket informed eveyone that it could be done a while back.....And primarily what kind of washer did you have to shim it with if any, what material was it made of........AND MOST IMPORTANTLY : Have you had any problems with it??? I have NO DOUBT it works soley because two VERY reputable engine builders, etc. said it does, but I have been told it's a bad idea by others, so I'll take whatever feedback you guys have......................... I want to know if there are any unmentioned possible problems with doing this , cause I'm contemplating doing it in my B17........GSR or Type R LMAs are at least $250, the prelude deal is only about $60-$80.......I don't know about you guys, but I like to save money as long as the outcome is desirable.........I mainly wanted to see what kind of sucess people have had with this (good fitment, longevity, etc.) as Omni only posted how to do it and that it was possible:https://honda-tech.com/zero...

What motor did you run them in? Did you have to shim them with some kind of paper thin washer (.040")?

is there a performance gain to this , or is this strictly a money saving mod?

money saving is the primary reason... when it comes to properties they are very similar to itr ones and will handle major lift cams...

I don't think Omni and Rocket would have recommended it if there were any reliability issues.

I did, I dont see anything. I've never replaced the LMAs before, anybody have a DIY LMA replacment with H22 LMAs, to break it down barney style? Thanks I need .040 steel washers and a set of lude H22 LMAs, but I'm not really sure how it all goes together.

This set-up works well, manny. I just started doing this on all the new engines. The spring shares the same tension as the ITR, but sits .040" lower in the seat. (as already stated) the washers can be found at a local hardware store. This will work well in your b16 bead.

waste of money, your all wasting money.... joe alaniz of alaniz technologies and tom @ portflow both said replacing LMA's for use with high lift cams is not necessary, ive done both, used ITR lma's and im currently running my first gen b16 lmas with no ill effects, my cams have a lot of lift and I shift @ 9k, no problems, unless your lmas sound like ****, dont do it. Just my 2 cents.

If first gen LMA's work fine with high lift cams, then why do type R motors have LMA's with a different p/n? Why would Honda use different LMA's and not just 1 for all b series?

I'm replacing LMAs that have a QUARTER OF A MILLION miles on them.....It's an investment at this point.......Stock replacements for my B17A are the same price as Type R about $35.00 APIECE! Multiply that by eight and you spent enough to buy an aftermarket intake manifold......To do the Prelude deal costs LESS than $100.00 TOTAL! No WASTING goin on here, Just SAVING! BUT just to put it out there, Type R LMAs have alot more surface area for the rocker to sit on........--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All you need to do is look at the pic above, Typical LMA os on the left : Type R is on the right.....Underneath your rocker arms you will see one of these on each side of each cylinder. One on the intake side and one on the exhaust side. You have to take the cams and rocker shafts out to remove them.......Plus all other stuff that's in the way (cam journals, valve cover, you get the idea.....). Look at the pic below and you'll see where they are located.....................--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
