rsx type-r news
Both of the following post have no basis to talk there is no official word from acura on its arrivial but I would expect it due to the STI scooby and mitsu sending a REAL lancer evo soon. Expect deciently high prices and hopefully it wont be to waterd down. do a search on this subject we have already had a few post about it
i have heard that they are bringing the rsx-r or as they call it in japan and everwhere else that is lucky enought to have it the honda integra type-r. they are bringing it in the begining of jan of 2003. they are bringing it to compete with the wrx STi and the lancer evo, yes i said evo, the wrx is comin out toward the end of 2002, and the type-r is comin in jan of 2003, and the lancer, yes the one with ***** and not that lil queer one with only120hp, i mean come on. well its coming in 2004. i got all this info from dealers. i know the owners of these dealerships and they informed me of this info. i plan to get a lancer when it hits the states. gonna be sweet to see a rsx-s and a lancer evo in my drive way.lol. well i hope this info is true, if not then i guess the dealerships are being lied to.

I hope you are right because I would trade in my DC2 ITR or a DC5 ITR ie a RSX type R as it would be called. However, I dont think it will be until the 2004 or 2005 model year. The Integra was introduced in 1994 and the type R came out in 1997. It makes sense to let your bread and butter cars such as the RSX and RSX type S sell first then as interest is starting to go down bring out the limited edition performance cars.
I think the same thing with the WRX Sti and the Lancer EVO. 2004 for the EVO sounds about right but I dont think the STi will come until after Subaru sees how the EVO does in the US.

I went to Troy Acura today to purchase wiper blade refills and I inquired. I was told that it would be here no later than March of 2002. They even asked me how many miles and what did I owe on my current 2000 ITR. Take it for what it's worth. More importantly, I'm concerned about how much power the car will have and how well the car will handle considering the current ITR is THE benchmark. EVO magazine, WHEELS magazine and MOTOR magazine describe the car as no quicker than the current car. In Australia they get only 196 bhp due to the "fact" that Honda claims that the engine is designed to run on '100 octane fuel.' So they got a different spark map. They also decried the less sharp steering and poor steering feel compared with the current car...
As far as handling is concerned, EVO described the car to be less involving than the current car and turn-in was less crisp...
I'd have to drive it which will be next to impossible, but we'll see...
