Default B20 crank in b18b

I know, I should have probably researched this before asking, but....

Is there any major differences in the b20 over the b18 besides the crank? If you used a b20 crank in a b18b, what rods and pistons would you use? Any info on b20 and b18b stuff would be great. Thanks

The b20 has a larger bore than the b18b, and of course bigger pistons, and a different intake manifold, that is all I can think of as far as major difference's.

Do not quote me but I THINK, the crank's are the same.

if it is the same crank and same rods, is it the pistons that give it that extra .20 liters of displacement? I was always under the impression that the b20 had a longer stroke? What bore does the b20 have?

I think it is 84mm. It is basically a b18a/b block bored way out stock.

Would it be safe boring My b18b block out that far when running any amount of boost? Somday if when I get motivated enough, I would like to have a b18 block bored out as far as possible with Golden Eagle godzilla sleves. I want some major torque. How far out could I go with the new sleeves?

If I had the money I would consider a stroker kit, by crower with the crower crank, but I don't. What does a stroker kit take the stroke to, and what would the displacment be I you were running the largest bore possible with the golden eagle sleeves?

If you can't tell, I like torque, only if I had the money to make my dreams come true.

Just resleeve your LS block to 84.5 mm, that way you can get some nice forged pistons at the same time and run crazy boost

Does anything need to be done to the head when taking the bore to 84.5? How much of a gane in torque would that be over stock?

What is the stock bore and stroke of a H22, is it possible to match that in a b series?

well, i do know that u can have your head spotfaced to match your bore size but it's not necessary, it's just for more dipsplacement, i think..and it will have more torque over stock..try asking a machine shop to see how far u can bore before u encounter problems even with the blocked resleeved..i'm interested too..

So, I would have golden eagle instal the sleves, and a local machine shop bore and hone it to 84.5? is it safe to go larger?

Golden eagle should be able to install 84.5 mm sleevs if you tell them thats what you want.
