Default Changed timing belt now no low end power?

We just finished a timing belt change due to it breaking on my friends car

We changed the head and put all good valves in and now after its done there is almost no low end power?!?
Could this be due to the timing being off or is there other factors that could cause this?

thanks
-Brian

timing may be off, valve lash specs may be too tight/loose..

well when we first started it, it started right up but the valves were ticking a lot so we did a valve adjustment and now everything is right in spec.

its not right on spec if u did the adjustment while the motor was hot,it has to be completely cooled for an accurate valve adjustment..

still I'd check them again you might have not tighten'd enough and they might have knocked loose again. also check your power steering pump and stuff because they are also known to come loose at times..

Your timing is off. Something was not lined up when you put the new belt on.

It sounds like your cam timing is off. Check & fix that first, before you do spark timing.

if you're off a tooth on the timing belt the car will run, but it will run like crap. which may be the case here.

On my friend's H22 swap in his del Sol, the exhaust cam was off about a tooth, and the car had NO pickup at all. He fixed it last weekend and immediately it got ALOT faster.
