Default MUGEN rear wing test-drive at Salzburg Ring

On friday I was the 7th time on the Salzburg Ring for an open track day. The long straight with a slightly left corner and going a little up hill, I hit 270kmh @ 8200rpm (mix'n match gear tranny) on the speedo. Last year with the oem wing the car feelt very light in the rear when I go off the throttle at that speed, kinda scary. This time the car feelt way more stable in this situation, like it should be. I have same tires and same alligment specs on the suspension to get a compare.

The Mugen wing is set at fully downforce

uhm....

anytime you take a turn and throttle lift you are going to unsettle the car.

If you pop off the loud pedal, sure... if you do it smoothly it should not unsettle the car at all.

I am glad that it is actually functional. I personally think it's pretty damn ugly.

I agree...it would look good on the RSX, but the Mugen wing does not flow with the curves of the ITR IMO...the ITR is rounded, the Mugen wing is boxy...

With the stock wing - I found my R to be really "squirrelly" under hard braking. This was greatly reduced with the Mugen wing.

Increasing the front spring rate significantly also helped (with nose dive)

And don't forget to get a roadracegear front splitter, too!

There are reasons why it's boxy, and I think it adds "character" to the car.

No

I need to do something... maybe go through T6 w/o braking to carry enough speed into T9. And then there's that whole T10 mess. Maybe w/ R-tires the situation will resolve itself

You know that's not true.

I've told you what to do, dammit.

I'm telling you...bounce off that gater on the right, turn left, then be in fourth before the next right, and FLOOR it up the hill....they will have to point you by!

once again to all the naysayers...i used to be in your group. but, you have to see the Mugen Wing in person strapped onto an R before you knock it . its really not as unproportioned to the car's bodylines like you think, atleast to me it isnt. i was a convinced how ugly it was until i actually came face to face with one in person. pure adrenaline

Another satisfied customer.

The thing may be ugly, but it works, damn it.

In my post never washed in 2 years car you can "see" what it's doing.

If you want a wing that flat out works and find beauty in functionality, like others of users of the wing have said: get it.

Accept no substitute.
