Default Getting Sideskirts Off

I'm going to be painting my sideskirts and i made a half-assed attempt the other day to get one off, and some of the plastic screws on the bottom just spin and are not actually catching so the plastic rivets dont come out and i cant get the skirt off. I know these little things are like 4 bucks from the stealership so I'm not about to break them all off. Any suggestions on getting them off?

take a screwdriver and press lightly until the screw catches.

or, rip them off with pliers, and leave 1-2 screws underneath and stop wasting your time. thats what i did. i win.

oh those stupid plastic screws.

Well, just to let you know, they don't really screw into anything, they push the feet on the clip outwards when the middle screw is inserted.

If the Screw is just spinning in place, the threads inside are messed up.

what you do to remove it is to take a safety pin and wedge it between the screw and the clip, hold it there while turning the screw, once you get it out a little bit, grab it and just pull it out.

you can also take a flat head and gently wedge underneath the clip and pry the whole clip out of the hole. have to be careful.

I just took mine off last week to get painted and put them back on last week. Take a screwdriver (flathead) and slide it inbetween the plastic screws and the sideskirt, put a little elbow grease into it and pop each one out. None of mine were hurt during the uninstall or install by doing that.

Then open you door, grab the sideskirt and slide it forward and it will easily come off.

Reinstaill:
There will be like 6 or 7 white plastic pens you'll see that held the skirt on. Take some pliars and pull and I do mean pull each one out. Slide them into the slots on the sideskirt where the go. Line each one up with holes on the car and pop the skirt back onto the car using hand not tool. Then take the plastic screws that go in the bottom and put them back in and you got it done.
