91-LX-may B prob with electrical wiring?? requsting help...
I went to my friend's place yesterday. Half an hr, when I came back, I couldnt start the car. Initially, there were warning lights(I think, all the warning lights glow before the engine starts), but every thing faded. I tested the battery with a voltmeter it was around (actually a bit more than) 12 volts. I switched on the headlights and I forgot to switch off them (I thought, I switched it off as they were not glowing). I heard some sound coming from under the right seat, even though I did not ignite/start the car.
I came back again after 15 mins the headlights were glowing. I switched off the headlight I couldnt start the car. The door locks and the bulbs on the doors did not work and the sound from beneath the seat continued.
I returned in the morning and tried to check the part name. I removed the cover2Pbelt unit and found a 'belt warning control', I could unplug one of the set of wires (the set to the right) but I couldnt unplug the second one. I noticed that as I was unplugging the 'humming sound' actully came from the set of wires that unplugged. It sometimes seems to be coming from the place near the parking brake.
I dont know what the problem is, but i am assuming it is the wiring that has the problem. what do u guys think? what (else) could be the problem? And how can I test if the belt warning system is burnt out? It has "CME corporation 1312U Belt warning control SM212V RK - 02222" on it.
Thank you
