try wd-40, goo gone, rubbing alchohol or a rougher rubbing compound of some sort also works good and then just put a dab of wax on to get rid of any blemishes

I wouldn't recommend putting goo-gone on your paint. Rubbing compound may be too abrasive as well. Just get yourself some claybar and try to get it off. Two popular brands are Mothers or Clay Magic. You can get it at Walmart or any auto store.

My aunts parking spot at her apartment complex is right under a tree and it always drips sap. That stuff is a bitch to get off. I'm not sure what she uses but I remember vinegar cleaned some other sticky crap off of her car before. I think she might use acetone, but just make sure thats safe to use before you use it.

Goo-Gone will not harm the paint, not in my experience anyway. I removed all the stickers I used to have on my old car in my ricer days w/ Goo-Gone, and I also removed the 8+ year old hardended adhesive behind my Acura emblems, as well as all of my pinstripes, w/ Goo Gone, and again no problems.

I would try some of that, and if that doesn't work, use a clay bar. Mother's is by far the best, and I've tried Mother's, Clay Magic, and Meguiar's clay bars. Meguiar's clay is too hard, real tough to knead it, and Clay Magic's bar is super sticky, would get stuck on my fingers and stuff when trying to use it.

Mother's

For everyone-
Go buy some DRY GAS at autozone, put a little on a rag and rub the sap spot, I guarantee that in less than 2 minutes, it will be gone....

Use Meguiars Paint Cleaner. Its basically a cream form of clay bar. IT worked great on tree sap that was on my car for over a year.

I tried turtle wax bug & tar remover on my car last week, but it barely got any of the sap off. I'm gonna try the clay bar next..........to be continued.

Seriously though go and get meguiars paint cleaner. Take that to it with a towel and rub furiously and it will come out.

if your clearcoat is in good condition,
goof off(its a stinkier tougher brand as opposed to goo gone which is scented and kinda mild) will work wonders to anything stuck to your paint, and it wont do damage.

YES if your clear is damaged, low, or non-existant, DONT GO NEAR ur paint with this,
cuz the stuff will just peel ur paint off,
not fast.. but i'll do it.

for example, be very careful using the stuff in the engine bay, where they didnt put much if any clear in the first place.

but I used it to get off the goo leftover from my civic cx decals, I poured and poured and poured and dabbed and dabbed and rubbed with the stuff, paint looked just as good after as it did before.. except all the goo was gone.

but yeah, buffing might produce the nicest result.
