Default LBJ replacement

Does anyone have the Helms Manual page in Adobe format for the removal and replacement of the LBJ's? I can get it out of the spindle, but i am not sure about some of the seals with this thing. Any help would be appreciated.

there is a c clip on it, remove that and the seal (like a metal ring that the axle buts up against) remove that, hit the old balljont out with a hammer and, then instal is the same backwards, good luck with that ring cause it sucks to get on well atleat for me it did.

well i gto a pickle fork so i shoudl just be able to pry the LBJ up. But i was wandering if i have to have a press to get the new one seated right. Or if i can just hit it with a sledge to get it in.

Hitting it on the head will damage the upper portion of it. It will cave in and might cause problems.

I pressed mine in with a table vice and a large socket. Get a large socket that is about the same diameter as the LBJ. Put it on top of the LBJ and load it into the vice. Tighten it down and it should press right in! Make sure you have another large socket on the other side so the LBJ threads have clearance to press in without running into the vice.

well thanks for the help guys i got my LBJ replaced. It took about 2-3 hours as i had no vice or anything. I found the easiest way was to remove the whole arm, and take it off the car completely. This gives you a better angle to knock out the old LBJ and put the new one in.

Removal of the LBJ was easy after i got the clamp off.

replacment was easy too. I didn't ahve a vice so i took some motor oil and lubded up the new LBJ and the old arm. I pushed it in as far as i can by hand, and then took a socket and a 5lb rubber mallet and tapped it in the rest of the way. This worked like a charm. Now i can roll my car again, and get my LS/Vtec in
