i really could've sworn there wasn't a backwards or forwards for rod caps, i could be wrong though... why do you think they're on backwards?

when i look at my caps 2 of them say p72 one way and the others say p72 the other way ? its quite confusing to me i dunno if all the caps should say p72 one way or the other thats what im tryin to figure out ? i think the person at the machine shop put the pistons in backwards ???

you can't install pistons backwards man, it doesn't matter either way, the P72 is just to match the parts

you can install pistons backwards, they're marked w/ dots which way to face (dots toward intake). the rod caps just need to be aligned w/ the rod so the bearing recess is in the same location. facing either direction is ok, just make sure its facing the same direction it was when you pulled the rod out. you should always mark anything when pulling it out of a motor and always put it back in its spot.

come to think of it i did punch my caps to match up.. i still don't understand the pistons though, help me out here 3.504, what kind of difference would be made if they were backwards?

yea on two caps my recess arent matching and if i turned them and intalled everything i wouldnt throw a bearing or do any worse damage ! thats what im tryin to figure out ! so it doesnt matter if all the rod caps dont say p72 in one direction ? everything was marked when i took everything apart so i knew where they went !

As long as you put it back together the way it came apart you should be ok. All the manuals I read say to always do that.
