Default valve train noise

Is it possible to bend valves from detonation?I just put my motor back together after cracking # 4 piston on the dyno from detonating. The top end seems noisy like valve noise.I've checked the basics like valve adj etc.The bottem end is sleeved with JE 85mm pistons with 0.005 piston to wall clearance. The head has skunk3's with oversized stainless valves.

some valvetrain noise is normal with high lift cams and a header, it muffles the sound less.

Did you run those cams before with oversize valves? I believe I read somewhere that Skunk2 warns against using those cams with oversize valves due to the large overlap.

Do not run OS valves with Stage 2's or 3's. Asking for trouble there buddy.

On Skunk2s website they say "do not use oversized valves" with the Stage3 cams, so you could have possibly bent a valve or 2 or 3, who knows, only one way to find out.
