In my opinion that's fine for racing engines...but on the street. Your gonna eat up your cylinder walls and shizzle.

i work for a machine shop and it is all in how you build your engine.... if it is done right.... . there is not "break in period" do you think that the nascar engines get broke in? how about indy? little mom and pops circle track cars? no! i know this for a fact..... the break in for a new car is because of 1,000 engines being put together a day in the biggest hurry you have ever seen to turn out a few $$$ but for a engine that has been put together from a good machine shop will not have to be broken in......... just put some cheap *** oil (because it has no detergents) in it and run the hell out of it for about 50 to 100 miles and change out for some good oil..... now that is broke in.....

I have used thsi technique on a few V8s that I built back in the day. Thats how I was told to do it by a couple of engine builders in the area. I'm sure I will do my honda the same way when I get around to building it.

That is how I "Break-In" my motor.

So far so good at 1700miles.

This is all an Opinion issue, so don't knock it till you try it.

Yeah I was interested to trying it, but at the same time didn't cause was scrared to drop $$$ in a built motor just to blow a ring after 50 miles and have to start over.
