Default mods for the dyno

i have a 98 base and ive added i/h/e, vafc, stage 1 exedy clutch, and a jun flywheel. i was wondering what other mods would help before i go to the dyno to tune the vafc, would a fpr or cam gears be of any help? and before i go, i plan on redoing the collector on my dc header to 2.5 inches and adding a hi flow cat but is there anything else that would help?

If your valve cover is cut to adjust the adjustable cam gears, and your using stock cams, then you might get a little. As for the FPR, not needed with stock cams. Actually, tuning with what you have there, there is not a whole lot to be gained with a VAFC, but you may gain a 3-4 whp.

In all reality, with what you have done, the stock computer will compensate just fine, a little rich, but just fine. Get some stage 2 crowers, or some other stage 2 cams, and then yes, you'll need to get it tuned.

Actually, depending on tuner they should be able to net abit more by leaning it out. With I/H/E and vafc tuned i gained 6 peak whp and the tuner wasn't very proficient.

you should be able to get your moneys worth out of the vafc. 5-8 whp for 300.00 isn't too shabby.

you guys all thinking cam gears wont help with a stock motor...buahhahahah...think what you want, and people wonder how i obtained 196whp on a dyno with my JDM h22 i/h/e/cam gears/ecu..this was after i got rid of my vafc....and also my fpr was helpful in running feul with my new ecu which is a GSR mugen p28..and for the record it was 13.5 to 13.7 all through the revs on a wideband
