Default my b20/vtec

hey everybody, i just put it in and it feels kind of sluggish....i went on the track and clocked 13.7 all motor....i got stock bottom and built head
cams, springs, retainers, itm, cam gears, valves ....my friend has a lsvtec and his runs 13.7s on the quartermile....and on the street, if you floor it in his car it spins first and second, mines if you floor it...it just goes....i know its good but thats not now it's supposed to be. there are a few things that i must fix....like the crank pulley, its the ls one...too big and i still have to change it to the b16 pulley....i must align the car, and fix a little fuel leak near the injectors....
any help would be appreciated, thanks

ive built two b20vtecs and one had a completely stock bottom end (just slap the gsr head on) and one that had stock components but was balanced, blueprinted and had a block guard with a b16 head. the stock one ran ok but was very sluggish past 4000 rpms. the other one is suprisingly very peppy and pulls all the way through the rpms.

There is a great write up on http://www.theoldone.com (endyn) about the b20 vtec they built. 300hp All Motor!!! They had problems with not getting enough fuel midway down the track and the car feeling sluggish. You might start there.

Here is the link: http://www.theoldone.com/articles/badtothebone/
They said they run injectors normally used for turbo'd cars

ive thght about doing a B20 for a while but i think there is too much low end for such a light car ide rather have the rpm and HP to make the car go, but let me know what you can hit all motor with your combo maybe i will change my mind

mine used to die after 4000rpm when it was stock as well, it would seriously just choke itself out.. upgraded the fuel system and dyno tuned it. runs like a beast now, even internaly stock. pulls all the way to the top.

Fix all the problems you mentioned and then get it tuned. What kind of cams are you running ?

Well if your running ctr cams then you really don't have to dyno it that bad, I mean you should still but if you were running skunk2 cams or something a lot more aggressive, well you would really want to get it dyno tuned. If you were to get it dyno tuned with the ctr cams, your just gonna be taking advantage of the work that was done on the head. I would get the fuel problem worked out and all the other little problems from there and then see where your at.
