that is sad, I did my whole interior in like 2 hours...you want to take like 5-7lbs of dry ice and place the blocks in and just smash it into little pieces and scatter it all around, it will freeze the sound deadning and you will be able to take a hammer and a big flat head screwdriver. It isn't really that hard to get off it you let the ice sit on the sound deadning stuff for a while. I guess it all depends on the age of the car too, because the older the car the harder to come off. It took a little while longer to do it on a friends car which is older than mine.
Just remember for every 100lbs of weight reduction you only shave like .1 (one tenth) off your quarter mile. The question someone should ask themself is this really worth the time and effort for this. Now just put the carpet back in and it will look better.

I think it's just nice to remove weight in a car in general but you don't have to worry about it looking all ghetto particularly if it's the guy's only method of daily transport/hobby car.
It's the same reason why the Integra-R didn't come with sound deadening and the firewall mat from the factory.
Save weight, increase performance with no significant negative impact in form of NVH.
I just did my car a few months ago and got as thorough as I could..... not sure what I saved, but I did it more cuz I had to paint the interior due to corrosion.

was the driver side and pass side as easy for you to take out asit was for me , i didn;t use dry ice and i used my fingers to pry the tar up
I dont believe it, I found a person that has less of a life than I do...Just playing.
Good job weight weenie. I was into that, but now I have a civic with A/C no thanks. I have all the heavy weight stuff... I got the Si with a 10in in the back and a 10 disc changer and aftermarket speakers. Still got the spare too.
Dedication.

underbody doesnt weigh 70 lbs.
edit: and the dry ice trick doesn't always work. I think it works best for older cars. My attempt at it in a new Civic was unsucessful.

going up to the fire wall it pulled right off, the drivers side was more a pain not to mention under the rear seats. thanxx for the comments on the shoes!!

FWIW, if you don't feel like doing the dry ice method you can always wait until winter time. That stuff comes up real easy in 30ish degree weather with a hammer/putty knife or scraper and 2 hours of your time.
why not putting that effort in tuning your car, instead of scraping all that off...honestly, if your car is daily dricen then thats a waste of time, i dont care on how broke you are and all, i prolly would rather spend that 2 to 3 hours on changing friends oils and filters for 10 bucks each car LOl that alon ewill be able you to start tuning a car...have fun non the less
I think taking the underbody stuff off would be bad... its probally there to keep the rust off and help kill the sound, I don't know about you but if it looks like it will stop rust I'll keep it on there
