Default AC troubleshooting...

I still have a problem with my AC..

I am pretty sure it sprung a leak where the high pressure goes into the radiator, after a wreck I had I saw oil there and it slowly got worse..

now, after the pressure goes below a certain point the compressor automatically shuts off right?

so to test and make sure thats the only problem I could refill the system temporaily just to test it and it should work for awhile? does this sound right for someone that knows AC systems.

Also, does that AC leak stop stuff work? or has anyone changed that high pressure hose that connects to the radiator?

THx

to find a leak you can get the sytem regased and a dye put in in order for you to see any leaks.
if it is leaking from the joint at the condensor(radiator) like you say then you do not need to replace the hose, i suspect that all you need to do is undo that joint and just replace the o-ring seal.
I would do the o-ring seal first then put the dye in so if there are no other leaks you will not be wasting money.
hope this helps.

Ok, now the hose is like.. looks crimped on

so I can buy the O ring, undo the crimp, install the O ring and re-crimp then refill the system?

thanks alot for the help

if i am right the hose is rubber which is then crimped into a metal pipe which is then bolted onto the condenser.
where is the leak as you lead me to belive it was at the seal that is bolted to the condenser.
if it is leaking were the rubber pipe joins the metal pipe then you will need to get a new pipe(if this is the case is it the one that is to the right as you look into the engine bay, if so it is the discharge hose and is very common) but if it is leaking at the bolted joint on the condenser then it is what i said first off.

yeah, then its the discharge hose.. its where the rubber meets the metal

so thats a common problem? would that cause the AC to blow hot just from a discharge hose?

i am guessing that there is not enough gas in system so air con is not blowing cold air.
you need to change this hose and get the sytem regased.
