You know the stripes on the del sol seats? Could I Change the color of the stripe to red from grey? I dont want to have to buy a whole new seat cause mine are in perfect condtion. So I wanted to know if i could reapolster the seat or have someone do it for me? What place would do this or how could i do this myself?

If i remember correctly they are actually sewn together. I dont think you can just take the center section out. You would have to take the whole seat cover off and take it to a upholstery shop and see what they can do for you. They should be able to take care of it though pretty easily.

 

You would have to take it to an uphostery shop and have them redone. Or maybe find a really good set of seat covers.

But yeah,try and find a good upholstry shop in your area and see what they can do for you. If you lived near me I would reccomend you to this guy near me that I know. He does awesome work on car,trucks,and boats.

i once got two del sol seats redone in tweed seat and stripe and it only ran me 180. im sure for just the stripes it would be under 100bucks.

 

Some guy on here recently posted pics of a how-to install on del Sol seats, and he dyed his seats black. He used some kind of dye from an auto parts store. That's another option. Reupholstering is probably best, but it could be a temp solution until you find a good shop to do your seats or something.

 

I would like to know more about this dye. Where could i get it, and where is this guys post?

 

Search, noobie. You can get fabric dye anywhere they sell fabric. I'm sure there are application instructions on the bottle and, assuming you know how to read, I'll just bet you can follow them to a T and get a decent result.

yea but I wouldnt do it if those were my seats. I guess its just me who doesnt trust myself with a bottle of dye or bleach...

I wouldn't trust dye... what happens when it gets really hot and/or humid? Does the color come off on your clothes?
