emission testing in texas?
Well in South Texas there is no emissions.
They just check blinkers, wipers, headlights, and if all lights are working (brake, reverse, and driving lights). Check to see if all lugs are on the wheels, that's all. Off you go.
Doesn't matter if you're running a V8 into a Honda. They don't care. No need for emissions or tests.

lol... thats awesome. Come on now, if they did emmisions in Texas, there wouldn't be any cars left in Texas. Same with michigan
I think california needs to realize there fighting a loosing battle, because no other states really give a ****

did you pass? if not you got screwed, or their just strict at that shop. I lived in killeen for two years and there were a few shops that "tested"...only imports because they were a bunch of rednecks.
if they would have failed me I would have made them test there junkers before I left!

emissions is required in most of the big cities and surrounding counties.
technically strictly by the book, intakes are illegal, but i have yet to find a place that does more than tell you that the intake is illegal. the wording ont eh law is something like "no alterations of emissions systems"
anyway there is nothing new about the emissiosn testing, its been around for years in houston and dfw....and around a year and a half ago they expanded it to othe counties. and i suspect they will expand it to all larger citiers eventually.
if you are obd2 they just run the car and plug their emissions scan tool in. if you are obd1 they put your car on a dyno and do a 15 mph run and a 25 mph run. my 4 personal cars have passed easily the past 2 years. one car is an h22a accord with bolt ons, the second is an h22a civic with bolt ons, the next is a b18c1 civic with bolt ons, the last is a 99 prelude wth bolt ons and head work, all 4 of them run carsound high flow cats as well.
and lastly if you have an obd2 to obd1 conversion you either need to convince the test station to dyno it instead since your obd plug is not working or look for a hookup.
